Training Courses and Seminars - Employee and Customer Satisfaction Surveys

Our main business is providing consultancy and bureau services to help clients conduct survey research but we recognise that some people prefer to be more independent, and that these people want to acquire some expertise of their own, rather than forever depend on ours. To meet this need, we have developed two one day training seminars.

We offer the seminars either as public (open) courses or as in house events delivered on your premises. Each seminar stands alone if required, but taken together, they amount to a beginner's course in survey research. If the seminars do not meet your specific needs, we are pleased to adapt the content for an in-house seminar to meet your requirements.

Developing, Authoring and Designing Survey Questionnaires
Duration: 1 Day

Dates

18 September 2008
9 December 2008

10 March 2009

16 June 2009

Fee: £250 + VAT = £293.75

An introduction for anyone responsible for conducting research by postal or web based self completion survey.

The day will equip delegates with the basic skills required to develop and design attractive and effective survey questionnaires. The day includes practical exercises throughout, and ends with a session during which delegates work on a project of their own. Delegates are encouraged to bring an example of a questionnaire to work on. It may be a draft for a planned survey, or a questionnaire which has been used in an area of interest to the delegate, and which they can adapt and improve in light of their learning during the day. We provide a draft questionnaire for anyone who hasn’t an example of their own.

Delegates need a good command of English, but no other knowledge or experience is required.

Venue: Roehampton, London SW15

Getting facts out of figures; A beginner's practical guide to statistics
Duration: 1 Day

Dates:

25 September 2008

16 December 2008
17 March 2008

23 June 2008

Fee: £250 + VAT = £293.75

An introduction for anyone responsible for gathering, summarising, analysing, presenting or interpreting data (especially from surveys).

Following the day, delegates will be able to summarise data and detect differences between groups of informants or for the same group at different times. They will be able to assess and report the statistical significance (if any) of these differences. When looking at figures prepared by others, delegates will understand the distinction between a statistically significant difference and one which may be attributable to sampling error. The seminar assumes survey data as the raw material for analysis, but the principles are applicable to data drawn from other sources, including BVPIs, SAT results, etc

The day is illustrated throughout with on-screen worked examples, followed by practical exercises. Delegates receive a CD-ROM to take away and use, including an Excel workbook comprising all the worked examples and a set of easy-to-use practical tools for calculating confidence intervals, assessing required sample sizes, standard deviations, standard errors and standard errors and significance of differences.

It is an introduction to simple statistics, so although delegates should be comfortable with arithmetic, including decimals and percentages, no previous knowledge beyond this is required.
